Atkins Operating Safely

Atkins Operating Safely (AOS) is a bespoke system designed to help keep our people safe when they are travelling, undertaking site activities and visiting unfamiliar offices.

AOS brings together a number of resources making it straightforward for you to access the appropriate level of support as and when you need it. The system considers and assesses different hazards and ensures that safety is given a high priority during site activities.

How can AOS help you?

All aspects of visiting or working at a client location or site are covered by AOS from planning the visit, carrying out a risk assessment, getting line manager approval and staying in touch while you are there via an on-line and automated phone-based system.

Because the environments that our people work in and the level of risk that they may encounter in different situations vary greatly between our businesses and sectors, AOS is designed to be flexible.

Using AOS

The AOS system should be used for planning site visits, including risk assessment, review and approval and for staying in touch while on site. This is the case for all site visits unless there are formal and equivalent client systems in place for risk assessment and for monitoring people's whereabouts.

AOS can also be used if you are travelling, working at a client location or working alone, as the system enables you to stay in touch whilst you're away.

Accessing AOS

To access the system to plan your travel or site visits for the first time, you will need to register by visiting https://aos.atkinsglobal.com/sos/. Follow the instructions to create your login details and you will then be able to use AOS fully.

Registering on AOS

You will need to register on AOS if you are acting as a reviewer, approver or an escalation contact, or using the system to plan a site visit for the time first.

Using the SOS communications system
